However, if you have lost or damaged the original media, or if you want to install Windows Server 2008 R2 Foundation on a different Dell PowerEdge server, you can download the ISO file from the Microsoft website. To do so, you need to follow these steps:

  • Select the Windows Server 2008 R2 edition that matches your product key. For example, if you have a product key for Windows Server 2008 R2 Foundation with Service Pack 1 (SP1), select Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.
